Armor being Tradeable
I searched guru for a thread about this, and couldn't find it, so I'll just make a new one. I am proposing to make armor currently customized for your character tradeable, at the least a one time trade.
This means that your char, as a PvE character, should at least be able to trade your armor one time to another player, and then it becomes customized to that character.
The reason I am suggesting this is that armor can become quite a big commodity in a short amount of time, and has a strong chance to revitalize the economy. It is something which can never lose value, and it gives the players the option to get back the investment they made into their characters if they decide to delete them afterwards (for whatever reason this would be done).
I think this would be a fairly simple and straightforward thing to implement from a programming standpoint, and would like to see what the community thinks about this idea, and how it can be changed/improved.
Discuss.

This would probably screw up prices of mats like ectos as if people don't like their Fow anymore they can just sell it for cheaper than the original cost.
I think that the armour system is fine as it is now tbh

i dont like the idea. By bolding "one time trade" you already imply that you know this would be bad if it got out of control.

This will not solve anything in the economy only push it further over the edge in my opinion.
"WTS: Fow armor, 10 ectos cheaper then crafter" ect...
The Armor system is great as it is and unique!

Armour can't be traded for a reason, it doesn't matter how many times. Once you give people the option to do it once, they'll want to be able to do it more, mostly because people will make dumb trades and regret it.

There's hardly any prestige left in elite and fow armours and you suggest we dilute that further?
Level 2 characters running around in fow gear?
It really doesn't take much effort to earn these, they're one of the better money sinks and opening them for trade would only cause a greater flow of excess gold.
etc..
A rather thoughtless idea, sorry.

I like the armor customization as it is, I think that your suggestion would screw up a good mechanic (having fow on a level 1 character would be insulting to everyone who had to earn it themselves)

Hmm..all right, well can anyone at least suggest a way this proposal can be improved? because I know many players deleat the chars and lose thousands and even millions of plat from armor. This would still provide armor as a gold sink, but just give more flexability towards maintaining characters.
To note, purchased armor should not, imo, be allowed to be put into the HoM, because these two things are seperate. However, can anyone else provide some deeper insight instead of just saying /notsigned without any real significant reason?

Read my post, the main points are mentioned. It shouldn't need further explaining.
Also: If you don't want to lose large amounts of invested time then don't delete your characters.

No, we do not need this.
We need it to be unlocked for PvE characters so we don't need to store them and we can purchase each single armor piece once, but then being able to remake them again for an small fee, like hats.
That would save storage.
But trading? No. They are made customized upon creation. They are meant to be a gold sink more than anything else.
If you want to take back some of the gold invested from and armor... well... salvage it.

Well if you know that you are going to delete a char, then don't buy armors for him. And using the "not enough space to make a new excuse" doesn't work, think ahead when you make a char, or if you can, buy a char slot.

Oh trust me it can and WILL lose value especially obsidian sets, and the reason you didn't find the idea using search is cause it's just plain dumb...

I don't like the idea with trade-able armor. Making it possible to trade set like Primeval, FoW, Elite Cantha etc would take away the prestige with having the armor, making it effortless to try get some high-end sets. Also, with the customization of the sets it should mean that the set is made just for your character's body (lenght etc). For example; making it tradeable, how can you be sure that the set you buy will fit your character?
I like the system as it is, one of the things that I like with GW

Some players might get the idea to buy an armor set, place it in the HoM, then sell.
Also some players have mules to hold onto their other characters armor sets, if the armor from one character goes into the inventory of a mule, it gets customized to that character and then your original loses it? If it becomes tradeable only once, does that mean you can't drop it at all? Your original character will have to be hauling around different sets and not be able to place them elsewhere?
It just seems that this idea would open up too many other issues.
